...hahaahahah I will update this soon! -me, June 2022
Hey! Hi... Umm. Yeah I suck at this...
I've tasked myself with making one small game per month for 2018. This is my time trying such a thing but, I am hopeful and very determined to make it happen. I've made a list of game mechanics and genres I'd like to work on, with the plan to create 1 to 10 minutes of gameplay per month.
So far....
About me:
My name is Chablis Jasmine, and as a U.S. Navy Veteran, I served six years as a Mass Communication Specialist (MC). As an MC I provided public affairs guidance, visual media, video, and photo support to the Navy's USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74), the third fleet of operations, and the Naval Postgraduate School. Having completed my service obligation, I plan to acquire the skills necessary to one-day work as one of the leading game studios working with everything from the growing world of Virtual Reality (VR) to Tabletop RPGs.
I am a Los Angeles native and have a diverse educational background. Before enlisting in the navy, I studied biology at El Camino College in Torrance, Calif., where I also used my graphic design skills to run a small business. My primary clients being different departments on campus as well as students and staff. I initially began working with graphic design as a pre-teen, playing around in photoshop making graphics that accompanied the stories I created.
A career in gaming was a process of elimination for me. I struggled with what I wanted to do with my time once out of the military; I knew I wanted to continue telling stories, how I could do that while being true to myself was a hard question to answer. I have loved video games for as long as I can remember, and what more excellent way is there to create a story than the one you can interact with and make your own.
My goal is to create a game studio run by women to aide in the diversification and intersectionality of the video game industry. I want to build games that are representative of those who play them as well as broaden the scope of whom games reach. I will make it my mission to ensure the world understands that girls can code too and that video games, computer science, engineering and the like are NOT just for the boys.
